37 VEHICLES SEIZED, 37 DRIVERS DETAINED FOR DRUNK DRIVING IN BHUBANESWAR. DESPITE SUCH A HUGE RISK TO THEIR OWN AND THEIR LOVED ONES LIVES, WHY AREN’T PEOPLE FOLLOWING TRAFFIC RULES?
In a recent crackdown on drunk driving, Bhubaneswar’s Traffic Police seized 37 vehicles and detained 37 drivers under the Safe City drive. Led by DCP Traffic PK Rout and ACP Traffic Jayant Kumar Dora, the operation aimed to curb instances of driving under the influence of alcohol.
Throughout the night, Traffic Police personnel conducted checks across the city, resulting in the seizure of 35 four-wheelers and 2 two-wheelers. Notable vehicles seized included Range Rover, Mahindra Thar, Honda City, and Maruti SX 4.
A total of 37 cases have been filed against the drunk drivers, with further legal proceedings to follow. The police have recommended the suspension of driving licenses to the Regional Transport Office (RTO) as part of their zero-tolerance approach to drunk driving, emphasizing the importance of reducing accidents and preventing anti-social activities on the roads.
