AIIMS-BHUBANESWAR ESTABLISHES HEAT STROKE UNIT AMIDST RISING TEMPERATURES

In response to the soaring temperatures gripping the state, AIIMS Bhubaneswar inaugurates a specialized unit to tackle heat stroke cases effectively. Situated within the Ayush department, the unit boasts six beds and commenced operations last week. Staffed with competent medical professionals from diverse fields, the facility is equipped with essential medical supplies to provide swift and efficient treatment to sunstroke victims. Dr. Srikanta Behera, Assistant Professor of General Medicine, heads the unit, ensuring adequate medication and rehydration solutions. Dr. Ashutosh Biswas, the Executive Director, underscores the significance of the unit amidst severe heatwave conditions, urging the public to take preventive measures. Medical Superintendent Dr. Dillip Kumar Parida confirms the unit’s readiness to handle emergencies, with collaborative efforts from multiple departments ensuring seamless management of heat-related cases.
