Industrialist Anand Mahindra recently commended a cancer center in Odisha for its noble initiative of providing free palliative care to patients in advanced stages of the disease. The Bagchi Karunashraya Palliative Care Centre (BKPCC) in Bhubaneswar, highlighted by IPS officer Arun Bothra, offers compassionate care to advanced cancer patients. Mahindra encouraged others to share information about the center, emphasizing its importance in providing free services to those in need.
Established through a collaboration between Bangalore Hospice Trust (BHT) Karunashraya and Mindtree co-founder Subroto Bagchi, the center aims to alleviate pain and symptoms for cancer patients. The Bagchi family’s significant contributions reflect their commitment to enhancing healthcare infrastructure, with the Bagchi-Sri Shankara Cancer Centre and Research Institute being another notable project inaugurated recently.
