Bhubaneswar’s Regional Passport Office (RPO) reduces daily appointments from 560 to 120 due to a software glitch from the new Passport Seva Programme 2.0 launch. The technical issue has disrupted operations, causing frustration among applicants stranded in the city’s heatwave. Many affected individuals, including NRIs, have lodged complaints with the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) and the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO). RPO officials attribute the problem to data migration challenges. Technical teams are actively working to resolve the issue and restore normal passport services, but applicants remain anxious amid ongoing uncertainties and limited appointment availability.
