END OF AN ERA – CUTTACK DEER PARK TO SHUT DOWN AND STAGS TO BE SHIFTED TO CHANDAKA JUNGLE

The iconic Deer Park in Cuttack is an emotion. However, it is heartbreaking to know that the renowned must-see attraction will shut down soon.

About 296 deer from the park will be shifted to Chandaka Wildlife Sanctuary. The Forest department has already initiated process in this regard, an official said.

They are being shifted to a 70 acre special enclosure at Chandaka-Dampada sanctuary with the assistance of Chandaka forest department and Nandankanan authorities.

This decision was prompted by the Orissa High Court’s directive and the Central Zoo Authority (CZA)’s warning regarding the need of providing sufficient space and a proper environment for the animals in the park.
