INTRODUCING ‘BHA’: NEW FOOTWEAR SIZING SYSTEM TAILORED FOR INDIANS PROMISES BETTER FIT AND COMFORT
A new footwear sizing system called ‘Bha’ is being developed specifically for Indians, based on findings from a comprehensive survey conducted on over 100,000 individuals across India. The survey revealed that Indian feet are generally wider than those in Europe or America, leading to poor-fitting shoes under the existing sizing systems. The ‘Bha’ system aims to simplify sizing with 8 categories tailored to different age groups, eliminating half-sizes and providing wider dimensions for increased comfort. This change is expected to benefit about 85% of Indians and streamline manufacturing processes. Production will focus on sizes catering to ages 4 and above.
